So guilty as charged.^^

December 6th, 2006 by opentoinfinity

Haha. Yes I am guilty. So guilty of being in a cosplay for the 2nd time! Yup, me - went all out and catwalked in the H3 Convention last month. On the other hand, I was so lucky to be picked as one of the top 50 cosplayers and also got some screen time when the event was televised. haha..yeah it was televised and *blank* channel. I was with my as crazy as I am nechan who was also picked as one of the top 50 cosplayers. We really enjoyed the day especially the feeling of being a mascot..joke. It was a nice feeling though to see the smiles of those families who want to take a picture with us, that really made our efforts worthwhile. It was quite a feat by the way, and cosplaying requires tons of effort! As a cosplay comeback, it was really memorable (the first attempt was during the Animax Carnival held 2 years ago). What did I cosplay?? Now this is the funny part, it started as a joke but hey, I managed to pull it off - just check out my Multiply account to see who I became.^^ T’was a fun experience.

And now, for the returning goddess duo, wait and see everyone what we have in store for the next event!!!

@nechan: omg, we need money for this.hahaha demo ganbatte ne!

Biggest surprise.haha.

when there’s no happy ending

December 1st, 2006 by opentoinfinity

Christmas is just weeks away but honestly, doesn’t feel like it. Anyway, I came across the lyrics of ‘Happy ending’ by Ayumi Hamasaki and what a sad song. For those who can’t understand Nihonggo, the meaning revolves around the incapacity to be happy. Happiness, according to the song, is a mere mask. Quite cynical huh? Yonde kudasai, douzo:

tachikomeru kumo sukima nuu you ni
hoshitachi ga semegiau
sakebi ni mo nita
inori no you na kagayaki ga
mune wo shimetsukeru

asa yo douka watashi wo hayaku mukae ni kite
yowasa wo kakushikirenaku naru mae ni

anata ga inai dake de konna ni
yoru ga samishii nante fushigi ne

ato dono kurai onaji you na
tsumi wo okashite kurikaeshitara

watashi wa hito de nakunatte shimau no darou
dare no me ni mo utsuranaku naru no darou

korogaru you ni nigekonda basho ni
hoshii mono no nante nai
kokoro kara kanjou dake wo hagitotte
kamen ni egao haritsukeru
douka konna toko kara watashi wo tsuresatte
subete ga omoide ni naru mae ni

anata to deai hito wo ai suru
imi wo sukoshi shitta ki ga shita
itsuka tsugunaikireta toshitara
yurusareru hi ga yatte kita nara

dakedo imasara shiawase no teigi nante
kataru shikaku nado doko ni mo nokotte’nai

Come to think of it, are we all meant to have happy endings? Aaargh..now the meaning of the song is already bugging me. Oh well, have too much in my mind to comprehend clearly..really sad.

Don’t belittle Tourism students!

October 22nd, 2006 by opentoinfinity

In my 3 years in UP Diliman, coming across someone who thinks their college is the best is common. Okay I won’t mention those students who have this TENDENCY of having this humongous UP Pride for I know my fellow UP peepz would know who those I am pertaining to.  Anyway, what is unnatural is for a professor to do so, to have such unprofessional attitude. Very glaring indeed, it does shows that equal treatment of students is sometimes unattainable for those whose mind is closed and has a high-and-mighty thinking. They would initially think that there are LOWER students that do not meet to their standards. I ask, to whose standards? Their standards? How would they know that THEIR standards is accurate or not? I came across to one person who belongs to these kind of people, and no courteous talk can break this person. Unbelievable but having the RIGHT education in the RIGHT school would not assure a person to have the RIGHT manners, and I am not talking about a mere student here. I just want to let off some steam because in my opinion it is very wrong to make such erroneous generalizations. I had already encountered some ‘discrimination’ as an AIT student when I was in Japan of all places (Can you believe meeting some UP people who are already working still having the mighty UP pride?! Astonishingly immature you say!), saying that Tourism as a course is insignificant and UP should stop admitting students for a Tourism course. To that person, the Philippine Tourism industry is a high potential growth area for economic success for our country, Philippines has the resources that are in need of proper management. This leads to having the PROPER education in Tourism for this industry to have sustainable growth. Who will manage the Tourism industry if they say the Tourism course is insignificant? Nurses? Lawyers? Computer programmers? None of those, because it is important to have the fundamental knowledge in this lucrative industry. Well, that’s what I told the man who bombarded me with those questions he thought as a joke, but for me this is no joking matter.

Subsequently, I encountered a quite known professor belonging to also an equally quite known college who has the same mighty air to which I will disclose both the name of the professor as well as the college. Saying that most of your tourism students cannot cope and do well in your subject, saying tourism students are not taking your subject seriously is not enough justification. A measure of a person is not through the grades that he/she makes - everyone knows that. Cliche as it may sound, but using grade as a basis to gauge if a person is excellent or not is quite unbelievable, we are not in a numerical measure. For that professor who cannot seem to understand the importance of a Tourism education: I cannot help if you think of us that way but all colleges are equal to their expected contributions to our country, education should not be about competition - especially an internally-embedded competition among colleges. What a laugh that the premier university of the Philippines has these kinds of individuals, very unprofessional if you ask me. I am very proud that I would be a soon-to-be graduate of AIT, and for those who belittles us… INGGIT LANG KAYO!! hehe..If Tourism is underrated as you say, why did the President of the Philippines in her 2006 SONA conveyed plans about Tourism development in the form of infrastructures? Those numerous Airport development that would ease transportation? Improving various roads? Think people, think. By the way, this is based on a real situation. Godspeed to the incoming graduates! Ganbatte ne! This ought to be a lesson for those who cannot stop underrating colleges. Damatte kudasai.

Kyoto and snow!

December 30th, 2005 by opentoinfinity

Finally, I went to Kyoto! I have been planning for such a long time for that trip, well I can’t go before because of some monetary matters. Anyway, we stayed for 3 days and 2 nights and had a blast. We arrived via Night bus around 6:30 in the morning and the moment I stepped outside I began to shiver! It was so cold that I need to wear my ear muffs! Too bad, I still haven’t had my Kaero ~heat pads~ sticked inside my clothes that’s why I was ‘weather-shocked’. When the sun was up and shining, we went to see Kinkakuji temple which I think is a World Heritage site. It was covered in Gold foil and was a good photo spot if you ask me? Hahaha..the shophalic is forever a photo addict. After that, we head to Gion district (well.err..not after stopping at a nearby omiyage shop for some Hello Kitty goodies!haha) and stopped by Maruyama Park. Surprisingly, it Kyoto_trip_010snowed!!!!! I was so happy!!! After a few poses, we continued our stroll even under the cold weather. We proceeded to the Imperial Palace and got lost.haha..Anyway, we called it a day early because we need to go to Universal Studios the next morning.

Dsc01252 We got out early the next morning to go to Universal Studios and had to use three different train lines - which was a little confusing though. There were not that many people inside and we were so lucky! Spiderman was great!! SUGOI!! I liked it and the attractions that were provided by USJ were different in a way to Disney attractions. USJ uses more of 3D and 4D technology mixed with simulated environment, though it is smaller than Disney. Hahaha..now when did i become an amusement park expert? I should be, being able to go to Disney 5 times in one year!hahahaha. Jurassic Park was fun too and also Back to the Future. Well, we rode almost all so I can’t remember the other names but my favorite was really Spiderman!!

Our third and last day was spent in Nara, the deer town! It was just a little hassle because you always have to take care not to step on some deer poo!! haha. We went to see Todaiji and some temples that I don’t remember the names. I was very tired but hey, my last trip was really a fruitful one. I am gonna miss Japan when I leave…and sad to say, my days here are really numbered already. Happy new year everyone!

is someone reading this?

November 7th, 2005 by opentoinfinity

hmmm..is someone really? nah, i am just wondering. well anyway, it seems i am back to blogging business again. hurrah! so my family just went home last week from their visit here and i am sure that their feet really hurt from all the walkings that we did. haha. that’s japan for you. i just wish we have FX or somewhat similar to something like a jeepney.haha. yeah i know it is stupid, but really, i wouldn’t want to ride trains all my life! even though i would have a sniff of fresh (not!) morning Manila air - yeah right, as if, but every morning as i board the jeep going to my university that do happens - at least there is a change of routine.

Manila, Manila, Manila - in a few months i would be returning..and i say really few months! hurrah!!! i can’t wait to go back to Manila again, can’t wait to see my family and friends. haha..but of course i wouldn’t be telling when will i exactly come home for it would be a secret (a drama queen would always be one, alway wanting a grand entrance.haha). but an element of surprise would be a little exciting isn’t it? so there, i am sticking to my word of not telling when i will go back. only my immediate family knows right now - don’t bother asking them, they wouldn’t tell..kaya mga seesturs secret lang natin un ah! haha. arte.

so i have been stocking myself with chocolates the past days and this ain’t good! gotta do some shedding off to do..poor me. oh well, can’t wait to go shopping again.haha.always the shopaholic - a crazy one to put. ta-ta!

Mt. Fuji Conquered..and tears shed

August 6th, 2005 by opentoinfinity

Fuji_142Yep..you heard that right..Moi! Watashi! AKo! I Climb Mt. Fuji and finished it until the peak! I am not just your girly type..I am tough y’know?haha..But honestly, it is not one easy task, mind you - it is definitely MUZUKASHII!!~difficult. We started hiking at 8:30 in the evening, groping in the dark. We were expecting that people would be bringing flashlights, that’s why some of us didn’t bother to bring some what happened was that, these people we were expecting to bring flashlights were also expecting the OTHERS to bring those lights! Oh well, so it was quite hard, not to mention that during the past days I was exhausted due to the night-outs we had and sleep-overs. Anyway, on with the story, climbing Mt. Fuji starts at the 5th station - halfway, so we climbed around 1800 meters. There were some parts wherein the slope was almost vertical that crawling is the only way up! Hahaha…so in an instant I have to learn how to rock climbFuji_127_1, gloves are really needed by the way. motte konakucha ikenai.hontou ni.. We took several rests, because Lauren and I were really having a hard time. I cannot breathe that well for we are in such a high-altitude place. Eun-Joo and Minkyung stopped the 7th Station and those who can still carry on endured the upcoming terrains we had to face. We watched the sunrise at the 8th station and it was freezing cold. I had 4 layers of clothing - and mind you what I wore where really authentic winter clothes and I was still cold. In addition, I had 4 heat packs pasted on my jacket..still I was SAMUKATTA!~cold. Lauren had a slight fever so by the time we reached the 8th Station, Steffen and her stopped. SO how many were remaining? Four people, by the way we were eight when we started hiking. On the middle of the 9th station, Emi quit and went back too - that leaves me, Bill and Aoi, helping together we managed until we reached the top! I was so proud because honestly, I really didn’t think I would climb the whole thing, right from the start I was really having troubles. I was holding Bill’s hand when we were nearing the peak for I was so tired already. We slept around 30 minuted on the top and went back trekking down. The way down was more difficult!!! Oh my gosh - that was the worst! Really! It was so rocky and the sand was loose, Bill and Aoi really helped me. It rained 5 minuted before we reached our last stop, the perfect ending, my shoes which were originally colored black turned beige!hahaha.. Fuji was so rocky and you can’t see that much foliage there, but the view up there was really nice. That was the last trip I had with Bill, who left today to go home. It feels so sad because besides that he was my neighbor whose room I always visits whenever it is tsumaranai~boring in my room, he was really a dear friend to me. I really would miss him, Lauren and I cried when he left, we accompanied him to the airport. I really don’t know if ever I can see him again..I do hope so though. Oh well, our apartment has become very quiet from now on..I really would miss him :(

Fuji_145

- we both love pictures! haha..this was the last picture (although quite badly taken..I took it that’s why..hehe) taken inside Narita Airport. Really sad..
